Christine Rode – SVA MA Design Research
Christine is a Norwegian designer and writer specializing in branding, technology and product. A massive nerd from an early age, she’s been addicted to pixels and code since she made her first Pikachu website in 1999. Following earning her BFA from California College of the Arts, she spent three years as a product designer at Facebook, where she lead design for Facebook at Work and helped establish a design culture in the London office. Her work has been featured in newspapers and publications worldwide, and in 2015 she was recognized in DN Norway’s “30 under 30” feature. She’s interested in the intersection between traditional design and future of technology, and is excited about the prospect of spending her time at the Design Writing and Research Intensive to further examine the role of the designer today. Passionate about cultural differences both subtle and salient, she’s lived and worked in Oslo, San Francisco, and London, and is currently plotting her next move to Amsterdam. When not designing, she can be found watching too much Netflix or trying to express her feelings through carefully curated emoji.
