Emily Pellerin – SVA MA Design Research

Emily R. Pellerin is a writer and communications strategist with a focus on design and design communities. Originally from Austin, she’s fallen in love with the creativity and entrepreneurialism of her local New York-based product and industrial design marketplaces. While her work focuses on engaging audiences around product and the manufacturing, scalability, and showroom relationships inherent to the business of design, she is interested in expanding her understanding of the social and economic influences of this industry on the people it serves. Likewise, she’s interested in the urban design structures that facilitate the products existing within them, and the interplay between the triadic relationship of environment, product, and people. Emily is based in Brooklyn, where she adamantly lives out her belief that informed connection to our things, our neighbors, our places of commerce, and our civic systems is what makes us responsible settlers, and what makes up valuable community.
