Jinjin Hu – SVA MA Design Research

Jinjin Hu is from China, where she majored in Chinese Linguistic Literature at Zhejiang University. Her major offered coursework in animation and film production, through which she developed skills in screenwriting and directing. She has a particular interest in Japanese Anime and endeavors to create an animated film with a strong personal style and cultural impact.

She is often impressed by the elements of design used in contemporary movies and cartoons. Techniques are improving fast, and art direction styles change every day. The animation field needs not only creative ideas, but also inspiration from masterpieces of the past. Design and animation influence each other and push the anime industry forward. It’s something worth focusing on, and the reason why she’s come to SVA.

As for daily life, she prefers to be called Jin. She is also fond of K-pop and J-pop. She dreams of producing a cartoon movie with the animation and music all created by herself.
