Natalie Espinosa – SVA MA Design Research

Natalie Espinosa is a New York-based design historian with a wide range of experience in the art world, primarily in the fields of Communications and Publications. With a longstanding interest in objects—their materials, manufacture, design, and context—she obtained a BFA in Furniture Design from the Rhode Island School of Design, and an MA in Decorative Arts, Design History, and Material Culture from the Bard Graduate Center. Although during the last decade she worked primarily in the field of the visual arts—in institutions including the American Federation of Arts, Jumex Museum in Mexico City, and the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros—she is excited to, once again, focus on design. As a Mexican American, she has a special interest in Latino, Chicano, and Latin American design and architecture.
