Patricia Cué is a native from Puebla, Mexico who completed her graphic design studies at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and at the Basel School of Design in Switzerland. In her current position as Associate Professor at San Diego State University she works with museums and with non-profit organizations, mainly in branding, visual identity, and user experience. Her research and studio practice are based on self-generated projects that are fueled by travel, people, curiosity, irony, and a dash of humor. She is fascinated by how cultures and subcultures use design in intuitive and practical ways, thus creating unique visual languages that challenge the expectations of “good design,” but serve the purpose of connecting with a specific audience while building an identity. During this summer intensive she is looking forward to collaborating with other designers and writers, to being immersed in a new environment and to asking herself new questions.
