Beth Kleber is the founding archivist of the Milton Glaser Design Study Center and Archives (opened 2003) and the School of Visual Arts Archives (opened 2007). She has acquired collections from artists and designers including Glaser, Ivan Chermayeff & Tom Geismar, Seymour Chwast, Heinz Edelmann, James McMullan, Tony Palladino, George Tscherny, and Henry Wolf. Her essays have appeared in design anthologies and she edits and writes for the Container List blog. Beth co-curated “Primary Sources: Documenting SVA and the New York Art World 1966-1985” and “Milton Glaser’s SVA: A Legacy of Graphic Design.” She lectures on design research, and assists students and researchers with inquiries on everything from Push Pin Studios to the SVA-related activities of the many artists who have taught at the school. Beth has also worked in trade publishing and began her librarian and archivist career at New York Public Library.
