Our graduates have gone on to pursue research-related careers in publishing, education, museums, institutes, design practice, entrepreneurship, & more.3

Eric Schwartau – SVA MA Design Research

Eric is a multi-hyphenate writer, editor, comedian, and cofounder of Talk Hole, a comedy brand and biweekly column in Interview Magazine. He has produced and hosted shows in collaboration with the New Museum, DIS Magazine, MoMA PS1, NADA Art Fair, Material Art Fair, Independent Curators International, and NeueHouse. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Art in America, Dazed & Confused, Time Out New York, and

Eric is a former Editor at Taschen and works as a freelance creative, copywriter, and researcher whose clients include Interboro Partners, Architectural League of New York, AmBev, Porto Rocha, and Chandelier Creative. He holds a B.A. in Urban Studies from Vassar College, receiving Honors for his thesis examining the connection between HGTV’s “designed to sell” programming and the 2007 US subprime mortgage crisis. He has a (scholarly) obsession with House Hunters.

At D-Crit, Eric instructs the Applied Media Workshop, advises students, produces events and lectures, and manages department communications.
