Our graduates have gone on to pursue research-related careers in publishing, education, museums, institutes, design practice, entrepreneurship, & more.3

Eric Schwartau – SVA MA Design Research

Eric is a writer, editor, and creative consultant based in New York.

At MA Design Research, Writing and Criticism, Eric fulfills numerous roles including Director of Operations, Graduate Advisor, Creative Director for graduate thesis conferences, instructor of DRG-5620-A Applied Media Workshop, and Program Director of the Design Writing and Research Summer Intensive.

He is one-half of Talk Hole, a comedy brand and column for Gawker and formerly Interview Magazine. Talk Hole’s collaborative work and writing has been featured in Dazed, GQ Australia, Mic, The New York Times, Time Out New York, Interview Magazine, The Creative Independent, and Art in America.

He is a former Book Editor at Taschen, where he worked on art & photography titles as well as series with The New York Times and National Geographic.

He holds a B.A. in Urban Studies with Honors from Vassar College.
