
Amelia Black
SVA MFA Design Criticism (2010)
Amelia Black is a creative researcher and designer, currently working as director of Media & Archives at Sawyer | Berson, Architecture & Landscape Architecture. After studying design in Chicago, in 2005 she exhibited her work as a designer at ICFF and the Milan Furniture Fair. In 2006 she defined the role of cultural curator within a design studio, building upon her work as a contemporary art curator at MOCALondon. In London in 2008, she helped to create the first series of gallery exhibitions highlighting the ideas shaping the practice of international engineering consultancy Arup by fostering artistic collaborations with outside practitioners. In 2009, Amelia was awarded a fellowship at NYU’s Steinhardt School as publications director of the Environmental Health Clinic.
