Graphic designer and educator
MA Design Research, Writing & Criticism (2022)
Andrew McQuiston (he/him) is a graphic designer and educator practicing in Philadelphia and New York. His work as a lead designer for award-winning agency Eastern Standard includes the development of branding systems, printed publications, and web applications for commercial, cultural, and non-profit institutions. Most recently Andrew served as Associate Art Director for User Interface Design at Urban Outfitters. He worked collaboratively with brand and product design teams to create a holistic digital experience across web, app, and store environments.
His multidisciplinary approach has informed thoughtful work in brand identity, print, and digital design for freelance clients and collaborators ranging from music and technology to hospitality and commerce. Beyond these projects, his self-initiated work involves a thorough research of content and the investigation of form, relative to his interest in politics, aesthetics, the environment, and the area where these concepts and theories merge.
He holds a BFA in Graphic Design, with a concentration in Book Arts & Printmaking from the University of the Arts, where he now teaches as a Senior Lecturer.
