
Avinash Rajagopal
SVA MFA Design Criticism (2011)
Avinash Rajagopal is an associate editor at Metropolis magazine. He is the author of Hacking Design (Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, 2013), which tracks the emergence of digital fabrication and open design as a model for responsible, sustainable practice. He also co-edited the catalog for Adhocracy, an exhibition on open design displayed at the Istanbul Design Biennial 2012 and at the New Museum. As a co-founder of the editorial consultancy Superscript, he has helped conceive and organize design-based programming, most recently about the future of museums at the Museum of Art and Design and about young avant-garde Italian architects during the opening weekend of the 2014 Venice Biennial of Architecture. Rajagopal has also lectured at the School of Visual Arts, the University of Texas at Austin, and the National Institute of Design, India.
