devoted to the study of design, its contexts & consequences.
Our graduates have gone on to pursue research-related careers in publishing, education, museums, institutes, design practice, entrepreneurship, & more.3

Brittany Dickinson – SVA MA Design Research
Brittany is an educator, designer, and systems thinker whose work centers on fashion design strategies for sustainability and social impact. Brittany teaches a range of studio and seminar courses at Parsons in the School of Fashion and the School of Art and Design History and Theory. She recently served as a facilitator for UNLEASH Innovation Lab and an international expert at the Youth Fashion Summit, two organizations that focus on creating solutions for the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Brittany graduated from the Design Research, Writing & Criticism program in 2015 where she was the recipient of the Monotype Award for Excellence in Design Criticism. Her thesis was titled “Fashion Vice: Preparing Design Students to Reform the Industry.”
