Cheryl Yau is a San Francisco-based designer and critic originally from Hong Kong. Her writing on design has been published in Design Observer, IDSGN, Print, Metropolis, Motionographer, and others. Cheryl has presented her research and participated on discussion panels at Parsons The New School of Design and School of Visual Arts. In 2012, she founded a hand-sewn leather workshop, featuring small accessories designed and crafted by herself. She is currently the lead digital designer at Everlane, dedicated to improving the ecommerce experience. Previously, she was an interaction designer at The New York Times focused on designing mobile products and also at Squarespace, creating templates for the web publishing platform.
