Erin Routson – SVA MA Design Research

Erin M. Routson is first and foremost a Clevelander, no matter that she now lives in Brooklyn. That important fact aside, she is currently Director of Global Creative for Ralph Lauren Fragrances at L’Oreal, creating the look of the brand from Korea to Sweden. Prior, she worked as an art director and graphic designer for Abercrombie & Fitch and Goody Products, among others. After a brief dalliance with the idea of attending law school, she discovered that an MFA in Design Criticism gave her the opportunity to discuss social justice, politics, hip hop and the intersection of gender, race and class through her thesis work on the system and service of public housing. Erin writes about sports, music and pop culture and is an occasional contributor to ESPN/TrueHoop’s Brooklyn’s Finest, music blog b3sci, and has been published by CLOG. She can be found much more frequently on Twitter.
