Hollie Sutherland – SVA MA Design Research

Hollie is an interior designer in her own practice, and teaches interior design at the University of New Haven in Connecticut. After ten years in practice she resumed her education in design with an MFA in Interior Design. She discovered a love of teaching and of writing, as her graduate school thesis introduced her to the world of theory in interior design. Hollie began to imagine a blog where she could explore the impact and value of design in a think-tank environment. Hollie is an accredited LEED ID+C, a registered interior designer in CT, and a volunteer in ASID CT, currently the president-elect. She loves movies—old and new—and the way she is transported into a story. She is attending the Summer Intensive in hopes of developing skills to interview, write critically, and research in order to actually create the blog she has been imagining.
