Hortense Proust
MA Design Research, Writing & Criticism (2016)
Hortense Proust is a graphic designer who sees design not only as a practical activity to create images and products, but as a means to analyze and understand human behavior. She holds an MA in graphic design from École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, where she challenged the notion of collective imagination by questioning the role of internet-based image search engines, and designed a prototype for a subjective image search tool. In her graduate studies, she has continued to explore these ideas in the field of art exhibitions. A native of Paris, France, Hortense is passionate about cinema and loves traveling.
