John Kazior – SVA MA Design Research

John Kazior is an American writer and designer interested in the increasingly precarious relationship between Nature and Humanity and how communication and design might be utilized to overcome the pervasive notions of “Man vs. Nature” and bring much needed attention to the dire ecological crises occurring globally.

John has worked on projects that range from exploring visual communication systems for Earth’s Geological Time Scale, to the creation of a board game with themes and mechanics demonstrating the symbiotic relationship of ancient island cultures and volcanic activity, as well as an intensive visual data analysis of the use of words in mainstream news outlets. His exposure to design and branding comes from working in advertising, environmental graphic design, and web-design in different cities around the world.

John possesses a BS in Graphic Communication Design from the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning at the University of Cincinnati.
