
Julia van den Hout

Julia van den Hout is founder and director of Original Copy, a communications office specializing in editorial, curatorial, and research projects within architecture. In 2011, she co-founded CLOG, a quarterly publication that aims to slow down the rapid pace of discourse and provide a platform for discussion of one topic at a time. From 2008 to 2014, Julia was Director of Press and Marketing at Steven Holl Architects.
As part of Original Copy and CLOG, Julia has organized events and held lectures across the United States; and co-curated the exhibition “New Views: The Rendered Image in Architecture” at the Art Institute of Chicago, and the traveling exhibit “5×5: Participatory Provocations.”Her writing has been published in The Architectural Review, de Architect, C3, CLOG, Domus, Oculus, and Surface Magazine. With Kyle May, she is a 2014 Graham Foundation grant recipient for their upcoming book on Wallace Harrison, The Egg and the Extrusion.
