Our graduates have gone on to pursue research-related careers in publishing, education, museums, institutes, design practice, entrepreneurship, & more.3

Kimberlie Birks – SVA MA Design Research

Kimberlie is an art, architecture, and design writer and critic. Her writing can be found in publications such as Domus, Azure, Metropolis and Architect’s Newspaper. Before attending SVA’s MFA in Design Criticism, she received a BA in the History of Art from Brown University. Kimberlie’s work has led her to collaborate with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, the Walker Art Center, ABC Home, and Designers & Books. She lives in New York City, will pony up at any street cart selling roasted chestnuts, and writes mostly from her kitchen table.
