
Laura Forde
SVA MFA Design Criticism (2010)
Laura Forde is a graphic designer and art director. She studied art history and French at Smith College, and received her MFA in Design Criticism from the School of Visual Arts in 2010. She was one of the founding employees of Wieden + Kennedy’s New York office, and since then her freelance clients have included Google Creative Lab, R/GA, Publicis, Saatchi & Saatchi, Anomaly and Mother New York. Laura has also worked in-house for brands such as Ralph Lauren and J. Crew, and in the editorial art departments of Details, George, and Elle. Laura co-teaches a thesis seminar in the MFA Graphic Design program at Rhode Island School of Design. She has also taught graphic design at the Cooper Union School of Art, and served on the board of AIGA/NY. She was recently a speaker at RE:DESIGN/Creative Directors 2013 and a panelist at Blunt: Explicit and Graphic Design Criticism Now, the 2013 AIGA Design Educators Conference. Her writing about design has appeared in Eye and Back Cover. She lives in New York.
