
Lauren Palmer
SVA MFA Design Criticism (2015)
Lauren Palmer is a writer, designer, and researcher whose interests lie at the intersection of art, design, literature, and theory. Her thesis work explores the idea of “liveness” in arts magazines. Through work and internships with Paper Monument, Printed Matter, Inc., Architectural Record, Princeton Architectural Press, and ARTBOOK | D.A.P., she’s received a comprehensive introduction to contemporary arts publishing.
Lauren spent a few amazing years abroad studying and working in London, fully immersed in the city’s design culture. She earned an MA in Textile Design from the Chelsea College of Art, where her research in sustainable fibers placed her on the shortlist for the University of the Arts London Fashioning the Future Awards. A native of Long Island, Lauren first settled in New York City to earn a BA in Biochemistry at The City University of New York.
