Michelle Duncan
MA Design Research, Writing & Criticism (2021)
Michelle is a Trinidad-born design enthusiast and story-lover, who has called Brooklyn home for more than a decade. Michelle holds a master’s degree in Historic Preservation from Pratt Institute and was previously the Media Relations Coordinator at Robert A.M. Stern Architects. She recently began contributing to PYLON, the official publication of AIA Brooklyn. Michelle is especially taken by narratives involving the convergence of history, the built environment, and the human experience. She intends to continue her exploration of design within a historic, cultural, and social context, and to proclaim the gospel of design’s power to influence a socially equitable society.
Once a fashion assistant at the storied Bergdorf Goodman, Michelle will forever fall victim to the seductive appeal of shiny, impeccably-made, non-essential objects.
