devoted to the study of design, its contexts & consequences.
Our graduates have gone on to pursue research-related careers in publishing, education, museums, institutes, design practice, entrepreneurship, & more.3

Molly Woodward – SVA MA Design Research

Molly Woodward is a designer, photographer, and wanderer from Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from RISD with a BFA in Graphic Design.

She has written about typography and lettering for a number of typographic-centric publications and her work has been featured in Landscape Architecture Magazine, Typography, and Typo Magazine, among others. She has received grants and sponsorship from New York Foundation for the Arts and has exhibited her photographs in a solo show at the Usagi Gallery in Brooklyn, and in group shows in Providence and Paris.

Molly loves cities, language, and organizing all of the items on her desk in perfectly aligned right angles.
