Monica Nelson
MA Design Research, Writing & Criticism (2019)
Monica Nelson received a BFA in Graphic Design from Pratt Institute and is an art director and writer based in New York City. She is the founding creative and photo director of Wilder Quarterly, and has created multi-platform brand campaigns for the MacArthur Foundation, Levi’s®, Kate Spade New York, Gap, Planned Parenthood, Urban Outfitters, and MoMA—working with a vast and diverse group of photographers, directors, writers and artists.
While writing has always been a part of her process strategically, she is looking to focus on design writing as a way to enhance her design practice and lend her voice (both critical and celebratory) to the ever-changing landscape of design thinking.
