Nikhil Sambamurthy – SVA MA Design Research

Nikhil Sambamurthy is a designer, writer, and third-culture kid. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Drama, and is keen on pursuing a career at the intersection of these disciplines—Architectural Storytelling. To that end, he has spent the last several months undertaking a series of experiments in form through his work at Terreform, a non-profit center for urban research, and the Urban Design Forum, a membership organization that gathers leaders in the field to debate the defining issues facing cities today.

Nikhil was born in Chennai, raised in Singapore and Geneva, educated in Pittsburgh, and now lives in New York. He writes to understand the world around him, project his ideas on to it, and imagine new ways of conceiving it.
