Olivia Mercado – SVA MA Design Research

Olivia Mercado is a graphic designer currently focusing on product design and mobile apps. She has a BFA in Graphic Design from the Universidad Privada Boliviana where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. During her undergraduate studies, she found that the most calming part of any design process was the research, and she will always remember a remark by one of her professors that, “Inspiration doesn’t come if you haven’t done the research.”

Diving into advertising and the digital aspect of design products, Olivia discovered her excitement for creating both beautiful and functional products that added value to people’s lives.

She has also been part of an organization in charge of a remarkable design event that takes place every two years in Bolivia, the Bolivian International Poster Biennial, which has given her more knowledge and passion for her career through the incredible people she’s met along the way.
