Tereza Bettinardi is a Brazilian graphic designer. Born in Southern Brazil, she holds a BA in Graphic Design from Federal University of Santa Maria, where she also studied Journalism. Since moving to São Paulo in 2006, Tereza has worked mainly in print, designing magazines and books. Interested in writing as part of her graphic design practice, she cofounded a design blog called aplataforma.org and also started collaborating with other publications, events and blogs.
Currently working as an independent designer, Tereza has also been involved with teaching–from workshops to Postgraduate Design Program–and recently she cofounded a project called A Escola Livre, an experimental school of graphic design that aims to ignite a dialogue on new ways of practicing and teaching design. By attending the Summer Intensive, she hopes to improve both her writing and research skills–as she plans to finish a story on the origin of the color magenta–and to be in contact with great discussions about design. Although graphic design plays a big role in her life, she also enjoys traveling, riding her bike, soul music and books.
