Elizabeth Spiers is a media launch consultant, entrepreneur, and writer. She is acting editorial director for Flavorpill Productions and until Fall of 2012 was the editor-in-chief of The New York Observer and editorial director of Observer Media Group. She is an advisor to HalogenNetwork and Carlos Watson’s TheStimulist.com, among others, and has launched fourteen commercial sites, including Dealbreaker.com, AboveTheLaw.com, Fashionista.com, Flavorwire.com, HalogenLife.com and several blogs for mediabistro.com. She was also the founding editor of Gawker.com, Gawker Media’s flagship property. As a writer, she is a contributor at Fortune and has also written for New York Magazine, Fast Company, Slate, The New Republic Online, Salon, The New York Times, The New York Sun, and The New York Post. She has spoken at various media and technology conferences and been a guest commentator on CNN, Fox News, CBS Marketwatch, MSNBC, VH1, and NPR.
